Vintage Collection at South Beach Place
South Beach Place has become our inspiration to amass a vintage collection of furniture and décor, matching the essence and spirit of our Hotel.
Our rooms feature collectible pieces mostly mid-century, although some are 70’s and 80’s, all chosen with love and care in an effort to compliment the Old Florida lifestyle which we feel the city of Vero Beach projects. Our hotel also offers the perfect back drop to showcase all things vintage, they blend together perfectly and look so pretty in our rooms.
Whenever we come across Vintage retro Miller Studio Inc., chalkware fish we scoop them up and use them as bathroom wall décor. The same goes for Chalkware lamps which you will find through our rooms, sometimes we are lucky to find a pair of dancers lamp, sometimes we only find one but beautiful they are! Some of our lamps have their original shades, sometimes we have had to re-cover the original vintage lamp shades, and it’s hard to tell the difference.
Preserving and re-purposing is our goal, in an effort to offer authenticity and capture the essence of the pieces original integrity and design. We do the same with our furniture pieces, even as far as finding vintage fabrics used to re-upholster. Every piece in our hotel has been carefully chosen and a lot of thought has been given to restoring, or perfectly blending the old with the new.
Our love of lucite anything and everything prevails throughout our rooms. You will find everything from lucite lamps, to dining tables, end tables, chairs, shelves, trays, anything we find lucite we to buy. When we started collecting lucite pieces, they were inexpensive and easy to find, it seemed like no one wanted their lucite anymore…but that is not the case today. Today lucite is hard to find, it has become very collectible, desirable, as well as costly!
Our rooms are tenderly curated, every piece has been carefully chosen, restored if necessary, and placed in their corner of glory within our hotel for your use and pleasure. We treasure our collectibles and we hope you love and enjoy them as much as we have enjoyed finding and learning about them. Please treat them with the respect and admiration they deserve.
